RoboLeague was a hackathon project where we designed, printed, and programmed a small car that used an ESP32 microcontroller and a custom iOS app for control and score keeping. The project was inspired by the popular video game Rocket League, allowing players to compete in a physical soccer-like game using remote-controlled cars.
I modeled, printed, and assembled the entire car assembly in less than 30 hours. The design took into consideration electronics mounting and wiring, clean and compact form factor, and ease of assembly. We used simple DC motors and a motor controller to power the car, with the ESP32 microcontroller handling wireless communication and control logic.
The project was successfully completed within the hackathon timeframe, resulting in a functional remote-controlled car that could be operated through our custom app. Overall creating an engaging and interactive experience for players.
